pending community membership requests
Good gods, you maroon, did you really expect me to accept your membership application with a LJ that was created months ago and has four freakin' entries? Consisting of satanic quizzes? Are you mental?

*sigh* Just had to vent for a moment. Maintaining community standards can be frustrating sometimes.

Have you seen [info]_fake_ljers yet? It might be amusing to check out your little friends from [info]wiccasucks there.

I really admire you for taking the time to be certain of people being of a serious nature. It validates your community.

hehehe. Communities, plural! Check out the "I am FMPPH for" box to the right.

I don't mind if they're not serious people (my husband [info]boniface is an artist and mostly nuts), but they should at least be articulate and show that they would be able to be an active participant.

:) Yes you have your hands full. I tend to read more than comment when I don't feel overly knowlegable about a topic. I feel like I'm not educated enough to raise valid points just yet, and it's a strange feeling for me (having lived in 7 countries) to feel intimidated this way. I take spirituality very seriously and lately, I find myself overwhlemed with energies I can't control; I'm very sensitive to them and often they don't come FROM me but I lend my energy to others (I am a former crisis worker). I hope that makes sense to you, i feel I need help learning to properly channel and utilize this sensitivity and awareness. It became particularly strong when I lived in countries in which I did not speak the native tongue. I know that Wiccans are infamous for being masters of this...I wanted to ask you what book you would recommend as a resource for properly understanding Wiccan (I've encountered a few).

One thing that helps me is lying on the ground. The ground itself seems to energize me; young children do the same.

I know I'm not the one you asked to help, but whenever I've felt overwhelmed, the ground helps. It gives you an anchor, a place to send the energy to, and to recieve from. That's my experience anyways.

Thanks for your response:) Yes, that's exactly how I feel when I am on the ground, lying on my back usually. Achored and and balanced, warm and safe. Children have this innocent, positive energy overflowing form them that fills me with a joy that adults can't seem to match....glad I'm not the only one that feels the need to deal with energy I can't always handle. There have been times I've retched and literally gotten violently ill from helping someone deal with a crisis and just the combination of their needs and my effort have left me feeling almost drunk with exhaustion. I'm Kelly BTW, nice to met you:)

Nice to meet you too. ^_^ I have to remind mom to often 'ground' herself when her energy is off the scale. I just meditate and imagine myself anchored like a tree, and it helps me more.

You're very much not the only one who feels that way. ^_^

Catching up on old missed posts while I'm home sick....

The book I first recommend is "The Triumph of the Moon" by Ronald Hutton. The ultimate web site is http://wicca.timerift.net
