From thefridayfive_________ 1. What is something that you used to believe, but are glad you don't believe anymore? That the shark from "Jaws" could somehow appear in my bathtub. I took showers for months after that damn movie came out. 2. Is there something you wish you still believed? What? Santa Claus. I still get that sense of anticipation during the holidays. but it kind of sucks being on the parent end of things sometimes, doing all the mundane things like wrapping. (and yes, except for the obvious Christian elements we do Christmas stuff in conjunction with the Winter Solstice. Why? Because we LIKE it. I see no reason to not participate in what made me happy as a child because pagans might object.) 3. What experience or person taught you the most about life? My affair during the course of my bad first marriage. Up to that point, I had lived in a sheltered bubble sort of existence. This experience opened my eyes to real life, and I've never regretted it. 4. What area of life would you like to know or understand more about? Fanatics. How can something get under your skin so much that it blinds you to basic human dignity or the value of life? 5. What is your most valuable lesson about life so far? Loyalty and commitment to one's Beloved. That it does not bind me, but in fact sets me free.
